About the role

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Octav, you’ll be the driving force behind our sales process, introducing Octav’s innovative solutions to key players in the Web3 ecosystem, including DeFi projects, protocols, and DAOs. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at building relationships, and is unafraid of the challenges inherent in outreach and lead generation. Your work will lay the foundation for our sales cycle, ensuring a steady pipeline of potential clients for our Director of Sales.

This is a fully remote position.

Key responsibilities

  • Master the Art of Prospecting
    • Identify and engage Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) such as DeFi protocols, DAOs, and Web3 hedge funds.
    • Conduct extensive research to tailor outreach efforts through email, LinkedIn, Discord, Telegram, and other channels.
  • Excel in Communication and Follow-Up
    • Create and execute follow-up sequences to maintain engagement with prospects.
    • Utilize creative communication strategies to capture attention and spark interest in Octav’s offerings.
  • Build Relationships That Matter
    • Develop innovative methods to build relationships with potential clients.
    • Set the stage for seamless handoffs to the Director of Sales for deal closures.
  • Drive Interest Through Trials and Incentives
    • Generate trial accounts and design compelling incentives to encourage prospects to explore Octav’s platform.
  • Create a Feedback Loop
    • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to refine outreach strategies based on performance metrics and market feedback.

What we’re looking for

  • Location: Must be based in Montreal, Canada
  • Experience: 1+ years in Sales or Business Development, with a proven track record of building a pipeline of warm leads.
  • CRM Proficiency: Comfortable managing a CRM such as Pipedrive, including creating leads, tracking notes, and recording meetings.
  • Resilience in Outreach: Thrives on high-volume outreach, viewing rejection as an opportunity to refine and improve strategies.
  • Creative Thinker: Able to think outside the box to develop innovative engagement strategies.
  • Strong Communicator: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to various audiences.
  • Web3 Passion: Deep interest in the Web3 and DeFi landscapes, with a desire to influence its future.
  • Startup Mindset: Excited by the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a startup and the opportunities it presents.
